What can I cook with the Umami Grill?

The Umami Grill works best with foods that are cut 10 oz and smaller in size. Due to the direct position of the flame under the grilling zone, this makes it perfect for foods found in Asian BBQ styles like KBBQ, Yakiniku, Yakitori, Satay, and Shao Kao. It works wonders with both meat, seafood and veggies - plus you can use it with other cuisine styles too!
How does using the grill work?

The Umami Grill is made for easy plug & play use. Simply insert a butane fuel can (sold at most grocery, hardware, and big box stores) and you’re ready to go! Turn on the power knob and adjust heat level as needed. Grill your food to desired doneness, then turn grill off when finished. It’s that simple.
How hard is Umami to learn to use?

Learning to grill with Umami is incredibly easy. It’s just like grilling at your favorite Korean BBQ or yakiniku restaurant. It’s a flexible grill that’s easy to get started, while providing loads of depth to master. We provide a full Recipe E-book to get you grilling in no time. Within a few tries you will be grilling tasty bites, and within a week; full multiple course barbecue meals.
Can I use it indoors & does it emit smoke?

Yes, you can use your Umami Grill indoors! Always grill under a kitchen exhaust fan and/or near an open window. Umami emits minimal levels of smoke when done with proper ventilation (Our motto is: if there’s no smoke, there’s no taste!) To assist with this we also provide a helpful guide on which foods give off Low to No smoke in our Recipe E-book; typically vegetables, seafood, and non-marinated meats.
How is Umami different from other grills?

Umami Grill is the first grill built for Asian cuisine. It grills with real fire close under the food. So pork belly is always crispier and bulgogi juicier. Our secret is our perforated mesh grate built around our special U-burner system, allowing flames to penetrate into food to create deeper browning and texture. No electric grill or camping stove pan even comes close in flavor, while larger full-size American grills lack convenience.
What is the company Warranty Policy?

Every Umami Grill comes with a full Lifetime Warranty on parts so you can grill worry-free. If you encounter any mechanical defects with your grill, let us know and we will walk you through the steps for a replacement so you are completely satisfied (shipping & handling fees apply).
